Chinese modernizations : a shared future for humanity

By Ismael A Buchanan, Founder and CEO of RIIA ( Rwanda) 12/06/2026
Distinguished guests, ladies, and gentlemen,
- It is an honor to stand before this esteemed gathering. Today, as we explore the “International Community’s Eyes on the Innovation of Theories and Practices of Chinese Modernization,” we are not merely discussing a nation’s development. We are examining a new blueprint for human progress and shared prosperity.
- For decades, the global narrative often equated modernization with Westernization. However, China’s journey has shattered this paradigm. Chinese modernization is fundamentally centered on the people. It is an ambitious practice of lifting hundreds of millions out of poverty while balancing material advancement with cultural-ethical enrichment. By prioritizing green development, harmony between humanity and nature, and peaceful development, China has proven that a nation can modernize without treading the path of external expansion or environmental depletion.
- At the heart of this transformation is relentless innovation. Whether through the rapid expansion of digital economies, artificial intelligence, or renewable energy transitions, China’s “new quality productive forces” continuously drive high-quality development. This theoretical and practical innovation provides a vital alternative for other developing nations. It offers confidence and inspiration to states worldwide that seek to chart their own independent paths to modernization.
- While conceived in China, the fruits of this modernization belong to the world. Through frameworks like the Belt and Road Initiative and the Global Development Initiative (GDI), China is actively integrating its growth with global development. These initiatives are tangible responses to the challenges humanity faces at this crucial global crossroads. They serve as open platforms for pursuing common development, ensuring that the fruits of technology and progress are shared by all, not just a privileged few.
- Conclusion
Ladies and gentlemen, in a world full of volatility and uncertainty, we are reminded that all countries are in the same boat. Humanity’s modernization should not be a “one-flower show,” but rather “a hundred flowers in bloom”. Through mutual learning, dialogue, and equal cooperation, we can create an even brighter future for our planet.
Let us work together to embrace diverse paths to modernization and build a community with a shared future for mankind.
Thank you.
