وأشار المتحدث باسم الجيش الصيني إلى أن المدمرة الصاروخية الأمريكية “يو إس إس باري” اخترقت المياه الإقليمية الصينية قبالة جزر شيشا، وأن قوات البحرية وسلاح الجو قامت بمتابعة مسارها وحذرتها وطردتها”.
وأضاف المتحدث أن “الأعمال الإستفزازية التي تقوم بها الولايات المتحدة تعتبر انتهاكا خطيرا للقانون الدولي وسيادة الصين ومصالحها الأمنية، مشيرا إلى أن الولايات المتحدة تزيد بشكل متعمد حدة المخاطر الأمنية في المنطقة.
وحث المتحدث الصيني الحكومة الأمريكية على “التركيز على احتواء تفشي فيروس كورونا في الداخل بدلا من زعزعة الأمن والسلام الإقليميين”.
وكانت البحرية الأمريكية قد أعلنت نهاية الأسبوع الماضي عن إرسال سفينة حربية إلى مضيق تايوان، لإظهار “التزام الولايات المتحدة بأن تكون منطقة المحيطين الهندي والهادئ حرة ومفتوحة للملاحة البحرية”.
