Unidentified drone infiltration from east confuses Israeli military

Israeli media say an investigation is ongoing to determine the source of the drone, whether it was launched from Syrian territory or Iraq.
The Israeli military is investigating the infiltration of a drone into occupied airspace from the eastern direction, near the tri-border area between “Israel”, Syria, and Jordan, Israeli media reported on Monday.
The media mentioned that after sirens sounded in the southern occupied Syrian Golan, an attempt was made to intercept an aerial target in the Hamat Gader area.
The reports indicated that an investigation is ongoing to determine the source of the drone, whether it was launched from Syrian territory or Iraq before reaching the airspace of occupied Palestine, according to Israeli media.
Some Israeli media outlets claimed that the target was destroyed by a fighter jet. Others said that at least one target was intercepted, adding that it appears that the drone came from Syria’s direction.
In a related context, the Israeli channel Kan‘s correspondent in the North reported last week that the issue of drones poses a significant challenge for air defense systems.
He pointed out that “even when they are detected, it is very difficult to shoot them down due to their extremely low-altitude flight.”
