Six Missing After Yacht Sinks Off Sicily Coast: What We Know

Concerns are mounting for six individuals who are still missing following the sinking of a super yacht, the Bayesian, off the coast of Sicily. The incident occurred on Monday morning when the yacht was struck by a torna dicwater spout during a sever estorm.

The body of one man, identified as the yacht’s chef, was recovered on Monday, while 15 others were successfully rescued.

Jonathan Bloomer, 70, is a non-executived irectorat Lynch’scompany, Autonomy, where hechaired the audit committee.

 He also served as a witness in the 2019 civil trial brought against Lynch by HP over the Autonomy acquisition.

Bloomer has had a distinguished career in the financial sector, including a decadeat Prudential, where heserved as CEO.

He laterheld senior roles, such as chair of Morgan Stanley International and, more recently, chair of Hiscox, an insurance firm. BothHiscox and Morgan Stanley have issued statement expressing theirde epconcern for Bloomer and hiswife, Judy, who are among thos emissing.

Judy Bloomer

Judy Bloomer, 71, has a background as a director in property development and has been involved with various charitable organizations.

Notably, she served as a director for the Eve Appeal, a charity focused on gynaecological cancer research, for seven years.

Chris Morvillo

Chris Morvillo, 59, is apartnerat the law firm Clifford Chance and played a crucial role in defending Mike Lynch during his US criminal trial. With a background in white-collar criminal defense, Morvil lopreviously served as an assistant US attorney for the Southern District of New York.

His extensive legal experience includes involvement in major cases, such as the investigations following the 9/11 attacks. Morvillo expressed his gratitude to his legal team and family after Lynch’s acquittal in June.
