Concerns are mounting for six individuals who are still missing following the sinking of a super yacht, the Bayesian, off the coast of Sicily. The incident occurred on Monday morning when the yacht was struck by a torna dicwater spout during a sever estorm.

The body of one man, identified as the yacht’s chef, was recovered on Monday, while 15 others were successfully rescued.

However, a search and rescueoperation is on going for the six people who remainun accounted for, comprising four Britons and two Americans. Here is what we know about them:

Mike Lynch

Mike Lynch, 59, is a prominent UK software entrepreneur who established a global technology company.

 He gained attention recently after being acquitted in June of 15 fraud charges in the US related to Hewlett-Packard’s $11.1 billion acquisition of his company, Autonomy, in 2011. Lynch grew up in Essex, the son of Irish immigrants, and later attended Cambridge University, where hestudied physics, mathematics, and biochemistry.

He earned recognition for his work in adaptive pattern recognition, culminating in his doctoral thesis, which is among the mostfre quently accessed works in the university’s library.

Lynch’scareer is marked by the success of Autonomy, which hefoundedin 1996. The company developed software that leveraged Bay esianinference for data analysis and experience drapid growth, eventually being listed on the London Stock Exchange and joining the FTSE 100.

 Despiteh is achievements, Lynch’s reputation has been overs had owed by a legal battle following HP’s acquisition of Autonomy, which the US company claimed was marred by accounting irregularities.

Hannah Lynch

 A former student at Latymer Upper School in Hammer smith, West London, Hannah wasknown for her academic excellence and received several awards duringher time at the school.

Her school confirme dher attendance from 2017 to 2024 and expressed deep shockat the news of her and her father’s involvement in the tragic incident.

Jonathan Bloomer

Jonathan Bloomer, 70, is a non-executived irectorat Lynch’scompany, Autonomy, where hechaired the audit committee.

 He also served as a witness in the 2019 civil trial brought against Lynch by HP over the Autonomy acquisition.

Bloomer has had a distinguished career in the financial sector, including a decadeat Prudential, where heserved as CEO.

He laterheld senior roles, such as chair of Morgan Stanley International and, more recently, chair of Hiscox, an insurance firm. BothHiscox and Morgan Stanley have issued statement expressing theirde epconcern for Bloomer and hiswife, Judy, who are among thos emissing.

Judy Bloomer

Judy Bloomer, 71, has a background as a director in property development and has been involved with various charitable organizations.

Notably, she served as a director for the Eve Appeal, a charity focused on gynaecological cancer research, for seven years.

The charity has expressed its deep shock and sadness over her being among the missing and extended support to her family during this difficult time.

Chris Morvillo

Chris Morvillo, 59, is apartnerat the law firm Clifford Chance and played a crucial role in defending Mike Lynch during his US criminal trial. With a background in white-collar criminal defense, Morvil lopreviously served as an assistant US attorney for the Southern District of New York.

His extensive legal experience includes involvement in major cases, such as the investigations following the 9/11 attacks. Morvillo expressed his gratitude to his legal team and family after Lynch’s acquittal in June.
